Our big boy turns 3!

I know I've said it many times before, but I can't believe how quickly time flies by! Was it really only three years ago that I left work to be a SAHM? Was it really only three years ago that my life changed in such a big way (in a good way, of course!)

Anyway, Jacob turned 3 on Sunday. He's growing up so quickly! He is seeming more and more like a little boy these days, having proper conversations with us, making jokes and generally being a pain to his sister (as well as loving her too much lol)

We celebrated the day with a little party for him. We had our families and our good friends Lisa, Andrew, Ella and Bethany to celebrate. It was lovely only having a few people up instead of a big party like usual! Jacob had a ball and loved playing with all his presents. We gave him a tyre swing and a proper sandpit for his birthday which he absolutely loved. It's so nice to have a few 'outdoor' things for him to do now as he loves being outside!

Jacob starts Steiner playgroup

This term Jacob started Steiner playgroup at the Menzies creek campus. We have only been two weeks so far but I can't believe how much Jacob is loving it already! He is a totally different kid there! We have met some other lovely families as well and it is really nice to be amongst other mum's who have the same sort of parenting ideas! I even knew a couple of the mum's from homebirth group! So Steiner uses a lot of toys made out of things from nature. Jacob was in his element right from the start and quickly honed in on some of the seed pods and rocks ;) The first session we went to I couldn't drag him away at the end, he was having a lovely time shoveling sand from the sandpit and putting in a wheelbarrow. It also turns out that the campus is right near the Menzies creek Puffing Billy station so each week the playgroup kids walk up to the station to see Puffing Billy. Can't get better than that for a little boy!!

A trip on Puffing Billy

Well, we finally got around to using our tickets for Puffing Billy that Dave and Kara gave us for Christmas! The weather turned out to be beautiful and we had a lovely day travelling from Belgrave to Lakeside and having a picnic lunch at Emerald Lake. Jacob loved the train (once he got used to it!) although I think Esme was braver than him in sitting in the carriage window ;) It made for a very special mother's day!

We made a special book all about our day complete with photos. You can have a look here. Jacob has already said that he wants to take the book to Nanny and Pa and Nanna and Grandad to read, so watch out!

Esme is famous!

Have been meaning to write this for awhile! About the time that Esme was born Baby Beehinds were running a competition. All you had to do was write some feedback about how you found their nappies and send a photo in and you would go in the draw to win some nappies. Baby Beehinds were already our favourite nappies so it was no trouble for us to put in some photos and we included a photo of Esme at one week old in the nappies. Anyway, we ended up winning 6 minkee nappies (yay!) AND the feedback I wrote and Esme's photo are now on the Baby Beehinds website! So she's kinda famous ;) Esme is on page 4 of the customer feedback
