Goop!

This week we've been experimenting with goop. Jacob really enjoyed this activity and spent ages watching the goop run through his hands. As always, it was a bit hit and miss with Esme but she never sticks to one activity for long anyway so that's no surprise! Even I got right into it this week. The texture of goop never fails to fascinate me although I'm not particularly keen on the feeling of it (it kind of feels like nails down a chalkboard!) When you run your hands over the goop, it feels solid and you can even pick it up. But let it sit awhile and it goes runny. Here's some photos of our experimentations:

Mixing it all together. It took a long time to mix the water into the cornflour!

Mixing in some different colours

Trying to mix the goop with spoons. It doesn't work too well we discovered!

Letting the goop run off fingers - lots of fun!

Sticking hands in and watching them sink to the bottom

Ewwww !

Here's the recipe if anyone wants to give it a go (pretty simple really ;))

Goop

Ingredients
2 cups water
food colouring
600g cornflour

Method
1. Mix the water and food colouring together.
2. Pour water into the cornflour and mix together

Oooooh that looks like lots of messy fun :) I know what we will be doing tomorrow.... although I might skip the food colouring after our failed attempt at moon sand last week.

I love to play with goop. I even made some for my boys this week, but it seems (at the moment anyway) I'm the only one who wants to play!

We made goop (or slime) a few weeks ago after someone else had posted it at We Play, and Princess loved it! I know that it is something we will make again and again, and again .... :)

I must admit I haven't made any goop for Immy, I think it feels rather unpleasant! LOL

Will have to add it to my 'to play' list
